The original exercise of Beneath the Waves was a meditation loop to explore maximal minimalism repeating a 4 chord phrase with no apparent beginning or end. This was often an opening ritual to our early rehearsals, and we often attempted to drag this on as long as possible with the least amount of variation we could tolerate in order to channel our focus into deeper melancholy and depression, to steers us away from some of our more progressive, and less dismal tendencies. This version was recorded sometime around 2002-2003 with two mics onto a 4 track tape recorder.
