Very early version of Bitumen Amnii. The first 4 1/2 minutes or so have the basic beginnings of the song with only guitar and drums and no vocals or counterpoint melodies, everything after that was improvised. The first doom passage that was improvised and a few other riffs were later futher developed into the finished version of the song. This was one of our early approaches to composing songs ... play a basic skeleton and then move into pure improvisation and see where it takes you, then extract ideas for more focused composition. Listen to this again after all these years I am reminded of so many different directiions we could have taken the final version, but perhaps we will extract some of these abandoned ideas for something new in the future, if there is a future!
